3D Memory Crystal™ - Tabletop - Hexagon

The 3D Memory Crystal™ Hexagon is the prestige shape in the Beyond Memories® collection - a six-sided block of K9 optical crystal with your photo engraved inside it. The faceted geometry catches light from every angle, which is why the hexagon is the most-requested shape for retirement gifts, corporate awards, milestone anniversaries, and memorial keepsakes. Some customers know this cut as the "iceberg" crystal, thanks to its ice-like facets. Engraved inside the crystal where nothing fades, peels, or scratches.

Every hexagon starts with your image. Our design team in Henderson, Nevada reviews and enhances the photo for laser clarity. Our artists set the 3D engraving model. A 4K laser fires millions of microscopic points inside the crystal, building your photo one layer at a time from the inside out. The finished crystal is hand-polished, inspected, and packed in a gift-ready box. Real artists, not algorithms.

How the personalization works

The hexagon engraving is built inside the crystal, not on its surface. After you upload a photo at checkout, our design team reviews it, then converts it into a 3D model that fits the six-sided geometry. The 4K laser leaves microscopic refractive points at exact depths inside the K9 glass, forming your image with lifelike volume. The hexagon's faceted edges refract ambient light around the engraving, giving the keepsake a quiet luminance even without a light base.

What photo works best

The hexagon favors a single portrait, a couple, or a small group of two-to-three faces. Wedding portraits, retirement headshots, family photos, and commemorative team shots all engrave with crisp detail. A clear, well-lit photo in JPG or PNG format (ideally 2,000 px on the long edge or larger) gives the sharpest engraving. Plain or softly-blurred backgrounds engrave with more depth than busy ones. For full-length photos or wide group shots, the rectangle portrait crystal gives more vertical room. Our design team reviews every upload and will reach out if your image needs adjustment.

What's in the box

Your hexagon ships in a premium gift-ready box - a navy presentation box with the Beyond Memories wordmark in gold, a soft microfiber pouch for cleaning, and a printed care card. The crystal is nested in custom-cut foam to survive transit. If you add a Memory Light Base at checkout, it ships in the same box with its USB-C power cable.

Crystal care

K9 optical crystal is scratch-resistant and water-safe, but a few habits keep it at its best. Wipe with the included microfiber cloth - a quick buff removes fingerprints. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, which can warm the glass and affect a paired light base. Dust occasionally with the same microfiber. If the surface needs deeper cleaning, a drop of dish soap in warm water and a thorough dry will not damage the engraving. The hexagon is built for any indoor surface - desk, shelf, podium, mantel, or display case.

Frequently asked questions

What sizes are available for the hexagon? Small, Medium, Large, and XL. Exact dimensions are in the size selector. A single subject engraves well at any size; multi-person photos are sharpest from Medium and up.

Is the hexagon a good fit for a corporate award? Yes - it is the most-ordered shape for retirements, service awards, and employee recognition. The faceted profile reads as formal without feeling generic. We can engrave a company logo alongside the photo at no extra charge.

What's the difference between Standard and 4K HD engraving? Standard produces a sharp 3D image suitable for most photos. The 4K HD upgrade adds about 50% more dots - finer detail, smoother gradients, most noticeable on close-up viewing or with a light base. Both use the same K9 optical crystal.

Can I add a name, date, or short message? Yes. Add your text in the Special Instructions field at checkout - no extra charge. Common additions include a name and date, a verse, or a company tagline for corporate awards.
