hygger Backpack Aquarium Filter

Why You’ll Love It

The hygger 150 all-in-one backpacking water filter system comes with 3-stage filter media chambers, combining mechanical, biological, and surface oil removal for crystal-clear water and a thriving aquatic ecosystem. It is an integrated fish waste collector with one-touch discharge, simplifying fish tank cleaning, water changing, and surface oil removal.

Key Features

Whisper-silent Performance

Engineered with vibration-dampening supports and precision motors for whisper-silent performance. The HG150 backpack filter includes interchangeable inlet/outlet accessories (oil skimmer, bottom suction, shower pipe) that adapt to rimmed and rimless tank setups (Not for saltwater tanks and thick rimmed tanks >12mm).

All-in-One Filtration & Surface Skimming

– Built-in Oil Film Remover: The floating surface skimmer continuously removes oily residues, improving gas exchange and clarity.

– Fish Waste Collector: A transparent chamber with a stainless steel drum traps debris for easy visual monitoring and one-touch drainage.

Adjustable Flow & Versatile Output

– Flow Rate Control (132 GPH Max): Adjustable flow rate dial in gentle currents for delicate species or stronger flows.

– Multi-Outlet Flexibility: An optional air hose for tailored water movement and aeration. Choose from a rain-like spray bar, directional jet, or aerated stream to suit your tank’s needs.

Effortless Maintenance

– Quick-Drain System: Connect a 1/2″ hose (not included) to the drainage outlet for hassle-free water changes and waste removal.

– Tool-Free Media Access: Swap filter pads or ceramic balls in seconds without disassembling the unit.

– Stainless steel mesh, high-quality components, and reinforced filter baskets ensure longevity.

Compact & Silent Design

– Whisper-Quiet Motor: 6W energy-efficient pump operates at <25 dB; as a backpacking water filter, it is ideal for home or office environments.

– Slim Profile: Mounts discreetly on rimless tanks (up to 12mm thickness) with secure mounting clips.

How It Works

• Intake & Pre-Filtration:

– Water is drawn through the adjustable telescopic intake (9.8″ length) or surface skimmer, which removes oils and films.

– A stainless steel rotary drum immediately sieves out large debris like fish waste and plant matter.

• 3-Stage Filtration Process:

– Mechanical Stage: Filter floss pads trap fine particles and suspended solids.

– Biological Stage: Ceramic filter balls cultivate beneficial bacteria to break down harmful ammonia and nitrates.

– Chemical Stage (Optional): Add activated carbon or resin (not included) to eliminate odors, discoloration, or toxins.

• Return & Aeration:

– Filtered water is returned via 3 customizable outlets:

– Spray Bar: Creates gentle surface agitation for oxygenation.

– Directional Spout: Adjustable flow for targeted water movement.

– Air Infusion Tube: Inject oxygen bubbles for enhanced aeration.

Usage Tips

1. Critical Installation Tips:

Always prime the filter with water before startup to prevent dry-run damage.

For rimless tanks, ensure mounting clips are fully secured to avoid slippage.

If your tank border is thin enough (< 12 mm), it can also be installed normally.

2. Maintenance Best Practices:

Clean the stainless steel drum weekly to prevent clogging.

Replace filter floss every 2–4 weeks, depending on the bioload.
