Antique French Gilt Bronze Planter – 19th Century Ornate Window Box with Lion Head Handles

Grand and full of old-world character, this antique French gilt bronze planter is one of those pieces that instantly becomes the focal point of a room.

Dating from the 19th century, it combines exceptional decorative work with substantial quality and weight, creating a piece that feels closer to architectural art than simple decor.

Every side reveals intricate openwork details: mythical animals hidden within scrolling foliage, floral medallions, and striking lion head handles that add personality.

Placed on a dining table, console, mantel, or large kitchen island, it could hold fresh flowers, dried arrangements, seasonal displays, or simply stand alone as a decorative statement.

The aged gilt bronze has developed a beautiful patina over time. Heavy, decorative, and richly detailed, this is the type of antique that looks as though it came directly from a French château or grand townhouse.
