Liposomal NMN

Liposomal NMN Capsules deliver 250 mg of nicotinamide mononucleotide in a daily dose of two capsules. NMN is one of the molecules researchers keep coming back to in work on healthy ageing, and that work is still developing rather than settled.

The reason this NMN supplement is liposomal comes down to the molecule itself. NMN is fragile. Stomach acid and digestive enzymes break part of it down before it reaches the small intestine, which is where a plain powder capsule loses much of its value. Here the NMN is enclosed in liposomes, microscopically small spheres of fat-like material that form a protective layer around the ingredient as it passes through the digestive tract. The technique is borrowed from pharmacy and is most useful for exactly this kind of unstable ingredient.

The NMN itself is Longevir, a standardised beta-NMN made in Europe rather than sourced from Asia. Alongside it each capsule holds sunflower lecithin, which forms the liposomes, and maltodextrin as a carrier. The shell is HPMC, so the capsules are vegan.
