Calcium AKG Supplement

Calcium AKG is a daily formula of four ingredients: 600 mg of calcium alpha-ketoglutarate, 500 mg of L-carnitine tartrate, 25 mg of coenzyme Q10 and 500 µg of vitamin B12, taken as two capsules.

Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. Two capsules provide 500 µg, which is 20,000% of the daily reference intake.

Alpha-ketoglutarate, usually shortened to AKG, is a molecule from the citric acid cycle, the sequence of reactions every cell uses to turn food into usable energy. It is bound to calcium here to make it stable enough to put in a capsule. AKG has drawn research attention in the field of ageing, and that work continues.

L-carnitine tartrate is a stable salt form of L-carnitine, an amino acid derivative concentrated in muscle tissue. Coenzyme Q10 is the compound found in the mitochondria of nearly every cell in the body and, like the others here, is present at a dose worth stating rather than a trace.

Two capsules a day, preferably in the morning with food. A jar holds 60 capsules, which is thirty days. There is no caffeine and nothing else stimulant in the formula, which is deliberate: it belongs in a routine rather than in a moment.

Additives are limited to sunflower lecithin, bamboo extract as a natural source of silica, and an HPMC capsule shell, so the capsules are vegan.

No gluten, no added sugar and no animal ingredients. Made in Europe under GMP conditions and tested by an independent laboratory for purity and heavy metals.
